It all started with a love for the horse.

I’m a horse-obsessed kid who grew up and - shocker - became more horse obsessed.

My whole childhood I begged my parents to be able to ride horses, and they finally gave in when I was in middle school. I got my start in the hunter ring and quickly switched to jumpers, falling in love with a Thoroughbred mare named Jazz (pictured right!) I have a few photos of her and I showing, but one regret I have is I never making photos of her and I a priority! Now, I hope to prevent that happening for you by capturing your favorite show memories, no matter the discipline (but I do have a major soft spot for the jumper mares!)

My road to creating CopperDog Media was anything but straightforward. I want to school to become a teacher so I could have my summers and evenings free to train horses. A couple semesters in, and I changed my major for the first time, and then for the second time, and then yet again for the third time. Ultimately, I landed on Ag. Business, knowing that I wanted to have a business some day, but not having a clue what that looked like at the time.

After graduating college, I hopped around to several internships trying to figure out just what I wanted to do with this one life of mine. I spent some time in Kentucky working with Thoroughbred racehorses before I hopped over into the rodeo world, helping produce events at the National Western Stock Show, Rodeo Austin and the American Royal. I worked in reining, moved full time to Colorado, and continued to travel around, chasing seasonal roles, all with a camera in hand to have something creative to do. Eventually, I found my way home to Texas after accepting a marketing role with the National Cutting Horse Association where photography became a major focus of mine again.

CopperDog Media was born out of a desire to capture the horses, the quiet moments, and the big wins that make up our sports. As horse people, we spend SO much of our lives to support these animals, and I think it is so important to capture those memories for a lifetime. My first love is show jumping, but I’m honored to say I’ve now photographed at the highest levels of show jumping, dressage, cutting, reining, cow horse and rodeo events - and we’re just getting started.

I’ve been incredibly blessed to call horses both my passion and my career for the last decade. I’ve loved taking photos for quite a while - I got my first camera when I was a sophomore in high school and fell in love with photography. I would have never dreamed that my photos would have been featured on the cover of magazines or that my artwork would be hanging in world class hotels, but the good Lord is so, so good, and we are building out this dream one day at a time!

When I’m not behind the camera or at the barn, I can be found paddle boarding, trying to fly fish or reading a good book, all with my border collie, Copper, next to me. She’s the namesake behind the brand and my best gal.

In all seriousness, for me, it all started with the love of the horse. With CopperDog Media, I set out to capture the love you and your horses share so you can preserve those memories for a lifetime. Those truly special horses don’t come along often, and those bonds are worth capturing.

Let’s work together! I promise to bring some laughs and a corny joke or two, all while loving on your favorite horses! 🖤
